In particular, the advent of chemical vapour deposition (CVD) for the manufacturing of diamond films has resulted in the ability to produce diamond in new shapes, sizes and to qualities never previously achievable. This means that the remarkable combination of properties that diamond possesses can be put to work in many new application areas.
