Difference between Synthetic and Natural Diamond

Natural diamond being a product of nature is highly variable in its properties, size, quality and consistency. This means that for engineering applications care in the selection of natural diamond material is critical to the particular application. For the more advanced engineering applications that require diamond's optical and electronic properties for example, the variability is a major issue

Synthetic diamond, being an engineered material, can be manufactured and tailored precisely for a broad range of applications. Through carefully controlled synthesis processes it is now possible to manufacture a range of highly consistent diamond products with different tailored properties.
