Element Six designs and produces supermaterials for use in tooling solutions for mining and tunneling operations. Diamond mining tools are exposed to extreme wear when extracting, conveying or processing natural rock and ore.

Our drilling solutions
Utilising synthetic diamond, the hardest material known, as a grinding media to abrade through the hardest formations, synthetic diamond grits can be used as the working face in exploratory, blast hole drilling and roof bolting. PCD (polycrystalline diamond) can be used to produce large cutting or percussive/impact surfaces that can be mounted on drill heads, drill bits and mining picks to increase penetration rates and offer longevity of performance life – a valuable feature in geographically remote operations. Where properly applied, PCD will provide the ultimate performance and productivity. In drilling applications where a combination of high strength, toughness and hardness is key, our tungsten carbide products can be utilised to great effect.
