Quality is never an afterthought at Element Six – it is embedded in the spirit of the organisation and in its processes. Quality is something we design in throughout our production development cycle.

Our processes ensure the highest standards
We employ a company-wide production system and constantly work towards our philosophy of ‘zero defects’ for our customers.

  • We enforce rigorous process controls and inspection requirements throughout production processes.
  • We understand the exacting specifications and performance requirements and deliver against them.
  • We employ statistical process controls to check critical characteristics of products throughout production.

Everyone has a hand in quality control
All our plants are accredited as operating in accordance with globally recognised Quality Management Systems, and every division in the company has a quality liaison team. At local level, this means quality control inspectors, engineers and managers on all our sites.

To improve our products we act like customers
We’ve developed an approach to quality that means we evaluate all our products in the same way our customers do. We invest in improved manufacturing processes, as in the new Micron area at our Shannon site in Ireland. Another recent development in quality evaluation has been the establishment of the company’s Advanced Manufacturing Centre where we work in close technical partnership with our customers.

Our team understand products as well as customer service
The people who interact with our customers bring decades of product experience and technical expertise to the table. For example, our Ascot site provides unrivalled CVD (chemical vapour deposition) technical capability, and our Diamond Research Laboratory in Springs, South Africa, works directly with our oil & gas customers to develop ground-breaking products in-house.
