Group4 Labs
Group4 Labs Inc. has developed and made commercially available for the first time, a composite semiconductor wafer. Comprised of one of the world’s most powerful semiconductors, the Gallium Nitride (GaN) is atomically attached to the world’s most thermally conductive material, synthetic diamond. The combination enables higher power, higher frequency electronics in communication and radar applications, and smaller more energy efficient power conversion/transmission electronics used in rail, hybrid/electric vehicles, solar and wind power generation. Additionally, Group4 Labs is currently developing high performance, energy efficient GaN-on-diamond-based LEDs (light emitting diode) in collaboration with a commercial partner. Group4 Labs has been a partner since 2008.
