Element Six Showcases Innovation and Welcomes Customers to First Event in China

WUXI, China (21 March 2018) Element Six, a world leader in synthetic diamond and other supermaterials and a member of The De Beers Group of Companies, will today host the first Global Industry New Material Technology Application Seminar for over 200 current and prospective customers and end users.

Element Six will be hosting the full day event at the Crowne Plaza in Wuxi to strengthen relationships and further cooperation with customers, while exploring new opportunities for partnerships with end users.

The event will mark the official launch in China of PureCut™, which consists of two new PCBN grades – DHA650 and DIA500 – and is designed to eliminate impurities by using an ultra-clean grade composition, nano-particle sized binder and optimised CBN (cubic boron nitride) grain size distribution. The unique PCBN design of PureCut™ significantly improves on industry benchmarks, by up to 50% and enables increased machining speeds of up to 300m/min.

Speaking ahead of the opening of the Seminar, Walter Hühn, Chief Executive Officer of Element Six said: “China is one of the most important and dynamic growth markets in the world. We’re excited to host our first Global Industry New Material Technology Application Seminar in China and to share insights on the diverse capabilities of Element Six’s innovative synthetic diamond and supermaterials.

“We recognise the value of being present and engaged in the market in China and supporting manufacturers and end users to use new technologies that allow them to gain a competitive advantage. There are significant opportunities in China and we have the ability to support the mass manufacture of high quality, high tech products that will succeed and surpass expectations,”

Delegates at the Seminar will learn about the capabilities of Element Six synthetic diamond and carbide for use in the automotive and aerospace, oil and gas, and consumer electronics industries. Speakers from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Nanhua University will also be present to talk about space materials and cell phone related materials and technology, while representatives from CFRP, Umicore, Z&Y, Vollmer and Agathon will be available for discussions with attendees.

Element Six will also introduce CTB004, a new grade of its PCD (polycrystalline diamond) range, to China. CTB004 is customised to meet the precision cutting demands for the automotive and consumer electronics industries and delivers optimised workpiece surface finish in both powertrain and smartphone enclosure machinery.
