“At Element Six we believe it is our duty to do our part to preserve an earth worth living on. Since 2020, we have made this a core component of our plan to support our emissions reduction roadmap and the shift towards more sustainable manufacturing. It’s important that our sustainability principles are built into our culture to enable us to better shape the future.”

SIOBHÁN DUFFY
Chief Executive Officer, Element Six

In 2025 we undertook a double materiality assessment to identify the material sustainability topics both at a Group- and site-level. The results of this assessment have informed our Sustainability Plan, which is detailed in the four pillars below: Climate, Resources, People and Culture.

CLIMATE

We are actively working to enhance energy efficiency and reduce carbon emissions and, in turn, improve costs across our operations.

We are committed to identifying and managing climate-related risks and opportunities that arise from the transition to a low-carbon economy. As part of our Sustainability Plan, we are contributing efforts to limit global warming to 1.5 °C above pre-industrial levels, in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement.

We routinely monitor and report our greenhouse gas emissions against annual reduction targets set at a consolidated Group-level. De Beers Group have validated science-based targets with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), and our emissions are included within that Group-level boundary.

We have developed a process for calculating carbon footprints for our products and actively seek to reduce carbon emissions by replacing fossil fuels and electricity throughout the value chain.

RESOURCES

We are working to decouple growth from resource consumption by embracing circularity and responsible waste management.

Through products that are engineered for durability and long-term performance, we support customers in reducing their own environmental footprint.

In alignment with the waste hierarchy (reduce, recover, re-use, and recycle) we aim to optimise the use and lifecycle of resources across our operations. We have an ambition to prevent all waste going to landfill globally and significantly increase the circularity of our products.

Our global sites track and set targets relating to waste and resource use which in turn help us manage costs and improve value chain resilience.

In recent years, we have implemented process improvements to reduce our use of hazardous materials and minimise our reliance on single-use resources, including plastics.

PEOPLE

We aim to promote a safe, fair and inclusive environment for everyone in our sphere of influence.

Alongside protecting the health and safety of our own staff, we work with the wider value chain to uphold human and labour rights and ensure ethical business conduct.

We recognise that we have a duty to ensure sustainable livelihoods for current and future generations. As such, we invest to equip people with the skills and development opportunities to thrive.

Our suppliers are vetted as part of an onboarding process, ensuring our responsible sourcing principles are upheld throughout the value chain. We work with our suppliers to continuously identify, manage and reduce people risks.

All our main production sites are certified to ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001 as a minimum.

OUR NEAR-TERM CLIMATE TRANSITION PATHWAY

In line with De Beers Group, we are committed to playing our part in limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels in line with the 2015 Paris Agreement.

We are currently working towards a scienced-based target of 42% reduction in our Scopes 1 and 2 emissions, and a 25% reduction in our Scope 3 emissions by 2030.
